 The millennial generation is an important part of voters in Indonesia and will determine the results of the 2024 general election. Political factors that influence the attitudes of millennial voters include awareness of the credibility of candidates and the relevance of their programs, ideological choices and political values, transparency and accountability politics as well as media and political campaigns. .The General Election Commission (KPU) has determined the final voter list (DPT) for the 2024 elections to reach 204,807,222 voters. Of this number, 66.8 million are the millennial generation who were born from the 1980s until around 2000. Thus, a third of voters in the 2024 election will be the millennial generation.

According to Asep, the political factors that determine participation among millennials are awareness of the credibility of candidates and the relevance of their programs in addressing issues that are considered important by the millennial generation, which has a significant impact on their political participation.

Millennials, who number 66.8 million out of around 204 million voters, will tend to support candidates who have a good track record of fulfilling their campaign promises. It is said that carefully understanding a candidate's background and views allows millennials to make more informed political choices.

Asep further explained that the political participation of the millennial generation is also influenced by the extent to which candidates and political parties reflect the values ​​and ideology they hold. Identification with certain political views can be an incentive for them to participate in voting for candidates and parties that are in line with their beliefs. An in-depth study of this generation's political views and their alignment with the views of political candidates can form the basis for more relevant campaign strategies.

Meanwhile, Asep explained, the millennial generation tends to demand transparency and accountability in the political realm. They have a desire to clearly understand political policies, the resources used, and the integrity of political candidates and parties. “Political non-transparency or scandals can hinder their political participation. "Awareness regarding the quality of transparency and accountability of candidates can influence the participation level of the millennial generation," he said. This activity was opened by the Head of the Political Science Masters Study Program, Dr. Lusi Andriyani and also given an introduction by the Chair of Apsipol Dr. Iding Rosyidin.
