Indonesia-OIC Urge to Stop Violence in Gaza

 

Presiden Joko Widodo menyatakan, Indonesia bersama Organisasi Kerja Sama Negara-negara Islam (OKI) mengirim pesan kuat kepada dunia untuk segera menghentikan eskalasi kekerasan di Gaza, Palestina. JAKARTA ( KONTAK BANTEN) : Indonesia together with the Organization for the Cooperation of Islamic Countries (OIC) sent a strong message to the world. To immediately work hard to stop the escalation of violence in Gaza, Palestine. According to the President, Indonesia and the OIC together with the world must focus on solving humanitarian problems and the roots of the problems. Namely Israel's position over Palestine.  

 

"Indonesia together with the OIC is sending a strong message to the world to stop escalation, to stop the use of violence. To focus on humanitarian issues and resolve the root of the problem, namely Israel's position over Palestine," said President Jokowi in a statement in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Thursday (19/10/2023). The President said that Indonesia would certainly not remain silent regarding the escalation of 

 

violence in Gaza which was increasing. Moreover, there were many civilian casualties. The President also said that Israel's attack on Al Ahli Hospital was an act of violation of the law. "This is a clear violation of international humanitarian law," said President Jokowi, emphasizing. Therefore, the President ordered Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi to attend the OIC Foreign Ministers' meeting in Jeddah yesterday.  

 

Because what is happening in Gaza cannot be tolerated. "Indonesia will not remain silent as civilian victims continue to fall. Seeing the injustices against the Palestinian people that continue to occur," said the President. The President also said that efforts would continue to evacuate Indonesian citizens around Gaza. However, unfortunately, it is still hampered by field conditions that are still less than feasible.
