JAKARTA (BANTEN CONTACT) The Prosperous Justice Party of the DPR RI sent an official letter to the Swedish Ambassador in Jakarta as a form of protest against the burning of the Holy Qur'an which recently took place in Stocholm. The PKS faction letterhead was signed by PKS faction head Jazuli Juwaini and faction secretary Ledia Hanifa Amaliah.
According to the head of the PKS faction, Jazuli Juwaini, the letter represents feelings of disappointment in the Muslim community, especially with this intolerant, provocative and irresponsible action. Moreover, this incident is not the first time this has happened in Sweden.
"As a form of responsibility and love of the PKS Faction for world order and peace, the PKS Faction sent an official letter to the Swedish Ambassador in Jakarta HE Mrs. Marina Berg. The PKS faction hopes that the
cooperation between Indonesia and Sweden will get stronger, including in efforts to promote world order and peace," said Jazuli.
The Deputy President of the World Muslim Parliamentarians Forum (IIFP) explained that there are at least three purposes for the official letter of the PKS Fraction to the Swedish Ambassador in Jakarta.
First, expressing protest and disappointment over the action that hurt the feelings of the Muslim community. The PKS letter represents the concerns and disappointments of Muslims in Indonesia and the world.
Second, as a friendly country, the PKS faction encouraged Sweden to take firm and concrete steps so that similar actions would not happen again in the future.
Third, the
PKS faction reminded the importance of awareness and joint responsibility of all countries and citizens of the world to create a world that is peaceful, calm, safe and conducive.
"For this reason, it is important to fight against all forms of intolerance, insinuation of hatred and hostility. Instead, citizens of the world must prioritize a sense of responsibility, mutual respect and respect, and tolerance for various differences, especially in matters of religion and belief," said Jazuli.
In its letter, the PKS faction argued that world civilization could not be built on hatred and intolerance. Such a hypocritical attitude is absolutely not an expression of responsible freedom and does not reflect modern civilization.
The PKS faction stated emphatically that there is no freedom that violates or insults the human rights of others. Freedom must have limits so as not to violate other people's human rights in order to maintain order and peace.
"In addition, the PKS faction will continue to push for integrated and collective steps to prevent the recurrence of the Al-Quran burning incident in Sweden and the possibility of incidents in other countries, one of which is by gathering support and joint movement from the inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU)," Jazuli concluded
