JAKARTA KONTAK BANTEN The Middle East is heating up again after Israel bombed Iran (13/06) which killed 78 Iranian citizens and injured hundreds more. This attack was responded to by Iran with a ballistic missile attack on Israeli territory.
Jazuli Juwaini, a member of the DPR who is also the Permanent Envoy of the World Parliament (IPU) for Middle Eastern Affairs, strongly condemned the brutal and aggressive actions that continue to be carried out by Israel, not only in Palestine, but also against a number of countries in the Middle East region. Jazuli emphasized that Israel is the source of instability and chaos in the world today.
“After decades of colonization, forced occupation, and all forms of crimes against humanity in the Palestinian region, Israel is now continuing to expand its aggression to other countries such as Lebanon, Syria, and Iran,” said Jazuli.
Israel’s latest attack on Iran which caused dozens of fatalities and hundreds of injuries is clear evidence that the country has no intention of realizing peace, but instead continues to spread chaos by ignoring international law.
“What Israel has done completely disregards the principles of international law. This country has committed almost all forms of violations of international peace and security law,” he added.
The chairman of the PKS faction of the DPR questioned: “Does Israel have the right to kill people arbitrarily, while other countries only have the right to be killed and attacked?” He also strongly criticized the attitude of world countries that have so far failed to stop Israel’s aggression.
“The people of the world are fed up! This is reflected in the various acts of solidarity and protests that have occurred in various parts of the world. Even tens of thousands of people from various countries starting June 15 will hold the Global March to Gaza as a form of solidarity for the fate of the Palestinian people. But unfortunately, there are still elite world leaders who support this colonial country and perpetrators of genocide. This is a blatant and embarrassing hypocrisy for modern civilization,” he concluded.
This member of Commission I of the DPR for the Banten Electoral District called on the international community, especially Muslim countries and world institutions that care about justice and humanity, to unite to pressure Israel to immediately stop all its aggression and be responsible for the crimes it has committed so far.
“All possible pressure must be applied, starting from legal mechanisms, politics, diplomacy, to economic blockades against Israel. Including asking the UN to immediately send peacekeeping troops and disarm Israeli troops that are used to kill Palestinians,” Jazuli concluded.
